About me.

My work focuses around charities and collaborating with other artists or Learning departments in the learning/education environment. I love designing for national charities - those who I'm involved with are ones which I've used for myself or on behalf of others, so I fully believe in their ideologies and goals. It makes working for them a real pleasure.

I've worked for the education and learning sector for over 10 years and love the projects I'm presented with. On a local level, designing for Towner Art Gallery has been a pure joy. Being able to design for Fuse Box at Towner (a free learning and creative social space) not only gives my imagination full run, but I get to see first-hand the benefits this space can bring through family and friends. This further underpins my belief that creativity in life helps create positive energy, and in turn, makes for a better world.

My own approach to creativity can go from playing with toddlers to listening to how a nan or a grandad interacts with their families and environment. Watching how they make sense of their worlds helps me better understand what is required of a designer - as well as the usual graphic, art, cultural and nature inspirations I surround myself with.

My background is in graphic design and illustration for national charities and galleries.

Design for print has always been my first love. Aged 10 I designed the school posters advertising a small performance. A teacher told me I could do that as a job when I was older. It was like magic!

Graphic design and my education in art and design has enabled me to work and advance as art educator. I’ve worked alongside artists to facilitate art workshops or learning experiences.

For these workshops and learning experiences I’ve had the benefit of having great mentors of which I’ve embraced their knowledge and passion for art and creative learning. I thank them and share some of the activities on this site.
